Look! Learn! Play! The “new” Kokura Castle/Sukiccha! Kitakyushu(2019/4.23 O.A.)

Kokura Castle, an ever-popular spot among visitors from abroad, has reopened with new exhibits. From a visual introduction to the castle’s history, you’ll move on to an area where you can don Edo-period costumes or try the yabusame horseback archery game. Replicas of Hosokawa Tadaoki’s armor, Sasaki Kojiro’s favorite sword, and Miyamoto Musashi’s wooden sword are among the items that invite you to look, learn, and play. For our program, Yasmine Djoudi of France savors the charm of “new” Kokura Castle while enjoying a hands-on experience of its past.
