Introducing the history of the toilet and the bath!TOTO Museum/Kitakyushu Seasons(2017/10/4 OA)

The ToTo Museum in Kokurakita-ku contains a wealth of exhibits related to toilets and other features of the bathroom and kitchen. The flush toilet made in 1927 (certified as a Heritage of Industrial Modernization) and the first warm-water cleaning toilet seat (a Mechanical Engineering Heritage) are among many items that tell the history of the toilet in Japan. The museum is operated by TOTO, a household equipment manufacturer headquartered in Kitakyushu.
The Shunkan Watchword is “The history of the toilet.” Our reporter visits the museum to introduce a variety of attractions.
